The Cooperative & the Location
Your ceremonial cacao from Camilles Cacao Love comes from Peru. More precisely, from the Ucayali region, which is located 600 km east of Peru's capital, Lima.
The ceremonial cacao comes from a smaller cooperative, located in Atalaya near the Tambo River, which accommodates 155 farmers and indigenous tribes who supply the most delicious criollo cacao beans to you, which become Camilles Cacao Love.
The advantage of being part of the cooperative is that there is support in case of illness, if the harvest is weakened due to weather conditions in the area, or for upgrading equipment such as new and better fermentation boxes, tents for sun-drying, etc.
ย

Why does Camilles Cacao Love come from here?
Your ceremonial cacao has its roots in this area of Ucayali because its energy called to be brought to Denmark.
The bonus, however, is that the climate and soil provide optimal growing conditions for your ceremonial cacao, as the soil is so rich in nutrients that organic farming is a given. Why is it a given? Because there is an intention to take good care of Mother Earth; she is so nutrient-rich here that using chemicals would be a waste of money.
This place is more than just plantations with cacao trees; it's a treasure trove of natural resources and traditions. It is also important for Camilles Cacao Love to respect and preserve Mother Earth, who provides us with our beloved ceremonial cacao. Especially because Mother Earth has suffered due to the way humans have treated her in recent times.
ย
Behind the cooperative
Camilles Cacao Love has a close partnership with the local cooperative that cultivates and harvests the cacao beans. This collaboration not only creates a sustainable supply chain but also strengthens the community.
Sustainable cultivation is not just about the cacao trees, but also about the people who work together to grow them.
Knowing the people behind it makes it easier to connect with your ceremonial cacao. At the same time, you can send a thank you when you sit with your cup and enjoy a moment with Ixcacao (cacao spirit).
Therefore, I would like to introduce you to the 3 people who make the cooperative run smoothly in Peru.ย
Here are 3 of the 8 souls I especially want to introduce you to.
I cried after my first meeting with these 3 people, who are an important part of the cooperative. I cried with relief and the great honor it was to travel across the Atlantic. Precisely because I could finally thank them for the gift they so beautifully pass on to me and us here in Denmark. And because I felt I could connect to the cacao in a completely different way, as I had dreamed of.

Fernando (to the right)
Fernando is referred to as the cooperative's fermentation expert. He knows everything about fermenting cacao beans and therefore gave us a long explanation of how to ferment the beans to perfection and what the process entails.
He is also the one who visits the farmers to help with getting started, should the farmers wish to convert their land to a cacao plantation. He also helps them become more self-sufficient by setting up fermentation boxes, installing sun-drying tents, or helping them optimize their farming.
When I first met Fernando, it felt so comforting and familiar. Perhaps just by looking at the picture, you can sense him and his wonderful energy.ย
ย
Maribel
She is a bit of an all-around woman in the cooperative, as she visits new farmers who join the cooperative, visits them when needed, sorts cacao beans, and is a big part of the administrative tasks.
Maribel is a truly strong woman and dedicated to her work. She also manages to be a mother, as her 3 children often accompany her to the cooperative when she works.
ย
Luis (in the neon green shirt)
Luis is responsible for most of the administration and is the second-in-command at the cooperative.ย
He is truly a grounded man, and I had no doubt that it means a lot to him to be part of the cooperative, because their task is also to take care of the farmers. Both so they can optimize their farming, and also if illness or problems arise, preventing them from managing their farming in the same way.ย

ย The Woman Behind Camilles Cacao Love
It's me, Camille - who is behind your Camilles Cacao Love.
The deep love and calling from Ixcacao (cacao spirit), which kept calling around 2017, when I finally surrendered.

When I'm not enjoying a cup of ceremonial cacao, you'll find me in my other universe, where I work with trauma therapy using modalities like Trauma-informed Breathwork and dynamic meditation. My dear companion, Ixcacao, is always with me to connect the spiritual with the therapeutic and earthly layers, and for a co-creation with her in my spaces <3
ย
In my private life, I love to deepen my knowledge of trauma therapy, consciousness work, strength training, reading, and cooking.
Besides that, I'm with my beloved Michael and have 2 wonderful children; Indiya & Vincent, who are well acquainted with "cacao" and have participated in many of our ceremonial cacao moments at home <3

It has nothing to do with where your Camilles Cacao Love comes from, but do you want to know more about what a part of the revenue from your ceremonial cacao goes to?
As well as how sustainability and social responsibility are focused upon?
I make it a point to collaborate and donate a portion of the monthly profits to organizations that do important work. Important work for our Mother Earth, who has bestowed upon us the ceremonial cacao. But also organizations that do important work for the people who are part of bringing Camilles Cacao Love to you - directly or indirectly.

You can read more about which organizations receive donations, how sustainability is prioritized in terms of social responsibility, packaging, transport, etc., in the CSR report: My promises to you & Mother Earth๐ค
