My ceremonial cacao is a beautiful gift from Mother Earth, which has come to us all the way from the fertile Atalaya in Peru.
Cacao supports your connection to yourself, allowing you to get in touch with deeper emotional layers. This is very valuable when working with therapy and trauma release, but it is also a fantastic quality when you have a break where you need to feel yourself. The intense taste and aroma of cacao is pure pleasure, and the wonderful sensation that spreads through your body as you enjoy your cacao is truly unique. You can use cacao as you feel called to. Many choose to use the peaceful break for meditation, journaling, or yoga.
What do you do when you drink cacao?
Drinking cacao is a pleasurable experience, and you are completely free to follow what you feel drawn to in the moment.
As you enjoy the cacao, you might feel that the taste and aroma evoke thoughts of the lush, warm, and humid rainforest in Peru, where the beans grew and the cacao's long journey began.
Feel yourself, and feel into what feels right for you right now. Try to shut off controlling thoughts, and just be present – feel your body – breathe.
Sense what you want to open yourself to – what you want to invite into your life right now with this cup of cacao.
Be present in the moment. Listen to Mama Cacao's whisper. Follow your impulses.
There are no rules. Do what feels best for you and brings you the most pleasure.
Ceremonial cacao from Criollo beans from Peru.
My cacao is made from the wonderful Criollo bean from the beautiful Atalaya region in Peru, where the cacao's journey began. The Criollo beans have grown under the warm sun with the indigenous people, in the green humid rainforest, and subsequently they are sun-dried in the scorching sun and finally fermented.
Cacao has been used by civilizations such as the Incas, Mayans, Aztecs, and Olmecs for thousands of years, and one of the things I truly appreciate about cacao is its many and varied beneficial properties. You may notice that:
Cacao boosts your energy in a pleasant and very gentle way, not like coffee-caffeine-jittery energy.
Why Criollo?
There are 3 types of cacao beans, but the Criollo variety is chosen as it is said to be the original cacao bean, which has been used for thousands of years by peoples in South and Central America.
Therefore, ceremonial cacao has always been made from the Criollo variety - and that is why it is the one you can buy from me. Despite the fact that it requires more care than other varieties and is therefore more expensive.
Cacao helps you on your inner journey
My connection to ceremonial cacao has roots in my own life. It started in my search to become free in life. It wasn't easy being me, and I quickly felt that cacao could do something very special.
The combination of physical, emotional, and spiritual properties of cacao quickly made me fond of it – suddenly, I went several layers deeper in therapy.
I felt that ceremonial cacao called to me so strongly that I – as a newly divorced and newly self-employed person – had to invest the absolute last I had in cacao. I just knew it was the right choice for me.
Kakao or cacao?
I have chosen to use the word "cacao" to raise awareness of the difference between ceremonial cacao and ordinary cocoa or raw cocoa. Both ordinary cocoa and raw cocoa are processed, and therefore will not give you the same benefits.
Ceremonial cacao is the purest form of cacao, and therefore it is also the form that gives you the most delicious experience and has the most natural nutrition and the strongest energetic properties. Ceremonial cacao is sun-dried and fermented, and it is actually the fermentation process that activates the ceremonial properties.
Preparation of ceremonial cacao
Cacao can be prepared in many different ways, but I think you should experiment and find what brings you the most pleasure. Try different ingredients and feel it out.
I personally love to use rice milk, but plain tap water can also be used. And otherwise, you can experiment with different types of plant milk until you find the variety you like best.
Avoid almond milk or cow's milk, as they prevent you from getting the full benefit of the cacao.
You can add any spices you like. I like lucuma powder, maca powder, cardamom, and true Ceylon cinnamon, and a little cayenne pepper or chili powder, but experiment for yourself.
And then I can recommend flower pollen, which is both beautiful, tastes delicious, and some people feel it boosts libido. And oh yes, it also contains plenty of amino acids, vitamins, and proteins.
If you feel called, or if you feel curiosity stirring, I hope you will listen. It is my mission of love to bring cacao to more people, and I know that my ceremonial cacao helps make the world a better place.
