Do you want natural sweetness in your ceremonial cacao?
Natural sweetness in your cacao 🤎
I myself love natural sweetness in my cacao.
Cacao is naturally very bitter, so I sweeten my cacao to enjoy it even more.
My recommendations and experiences
You can certainly add sugar, honey, or syrup to your cacao, but I personally feel that it hinders absorption and numbs the taste buds, which is why I don't use it myself.
If you're inclined, I would recommend using coconut sugar or honey (be aware that this is a grey area for some vegans, though).
Natural sweetness
However, I love finding ways to naturally sweeten my cacao.
🤎 Rice milk or oat milk, I often use as they are sweet in themselves.
🤎 Dates are also fantastic if you blend your cacao, and they also help increase meditative focus.
I practically always use dates in my cup of cacao.
🤎 Flower pollen is good as a topping, but also works fantastically as a sweetener in your cacao.
🤎 Lucuma powder also sweetens and has a delicious caramel-like taste.
🤎 Ripe bananas can also add extra sweetness and be delicious in your cacao - especially if you want a consistency like cacao mousse.
What do you love to use in your cacao? 😍
