New to the world of cacao – a short guide for the curious
Many people write to me because they are curious about ceremonial cacao but are a bit unsure how to best get started. Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions – and links to dive deeper.
If you want a comprehensive introduction with recipes, dosages, and inspiration, you can download my free e-book "New to the world of cacao" here: Download e-book. When you download it, you'll also find a small gift as a loving surprise for your moments – so you can feel supported if you're new to the world of cacao. 🤎
I have also created a Cacao Journal, where you can write down your reflections after each cup. It is a gentle tool to notice changes over time and strengthen your connection to your practice.
How do I best get started?
It can be very good to start simply.
Start with a single package of Camilles Cacao Love 420 g, or choose Package 1 – Cacao & Grounding mix, which also includes a Grounding Spice Mix.
That way, you can feel how the cacao affects your daily life – without making it too complicated. With the mix, you also ensure that it is even simpler – knowing that your cacao is balanced in taste and energetically.
Should I drink cacao every day?
There is nothing you have to.
Some drink cacao daily, others weekly – and for many, it comes in periods.
I always recommend feeling what is right for you: When cacao calls to you, or you feel like it. Especially in the beginning, it can be good to drink a little more often, so you build a relationship and a simple practice.
How do I dose my cacao?
The dosage depends on whether you want a ceremonial experience or a milder cup for everyday use:
-
Ceremonial dosage: Approx. 35–42 g cacao
-
Everyday dosage: Approx. 15–25 g cacao
It can be good to start on the lower end and feel what your body and heart need. Over time, you can adjust the dosage, depending on how deep you wish to go.
Read more about cacao and dosage here: Dosage & inspiration.
How do I prepare my cacao?
Cacao can be prepared simply with water – or with plant-based milk if you want a softer taste. You can sweeten it with coconut sugar, honey, dates, or whatever you have in the kitchen.
In my e-book "New to the world of cacao," you'll find more preparation tips so you can explore different variations: Download e-book here.
Should I use guided audio files?
It's not necessary – but many find that guided audio files help them find calm and create a framework around their cacao experience.
I have created both Guided New Moon Ceremony and full moon guidances, which can be a loving support for your practice.
