Laboratory test of cacao: Your Camilles Cacao Love is wonderful nourishment

When Cacao Is Tested in the Lab – Confirming What I've Felt for Years

I have always shared cacao as a living, loving plant connection.
As a path to presence. An opening to the body. A friend in silence.
But now, something new has happened.

I had my ceremonial cacao analyzed in an independent laboratory.
And even though I already know her power from within,
it was a wild feeling to have numbers put to everything I feel every day:

👉 That cacao not only supports us emotionally and spiritually,
but also physically — very concretely and nutritionally.

Here I share some of the most important insights so you can see with your own eyes
why this plant connection is so unique.

It feels as if nature itself has created a small nutrient package — wrapped in cocoa beans.

1. Cacao is rich in magnesium

Magnesium is one of the minerals that most modern people are deficient in.

Among other things, it can support:

  • nervous system and sleep

  • muscles and recovery

  • cycle and hormone balance

  • digestion and relaxation

In the test, cacao proved to be naturally rich in magnesium.
In fact, its levels are higher than:

  • green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale

  • bananas

  • almonds

  • avocado

This makes cacao a wonderful daily support – especially if you tend to feel restless, tense, or have racing thoughts.

2. Potassium and iron in balanced form

Cacao also contains high levels of potassium and iron.

Potassium supports:

  • fluid balance and blood pressure

  • nerve and muscle function

  • the body's ability to regulate energy

Iron is crucial for:

  • oxygen transport in the blood

  • energy and endurance

  • concentration and immune system

The beautiful thing is that these minerals are found in cacao exactly as nature created them.
They work together, and their absorption is high because it is a whole food — not isolated substances.

Cacao's iron content is comparable to, and in some cases higher than:

  • red meat

  • legumes

  • green vegetables

And its potassium content is higher than, for example:

  • potatoes

  • oranges

  • yogurt

  • many energy drinks and sports products

3. Zinc and copper — small but important helpers

Zinc and copper are rarely mentioned in everyday life, but they are crucial for the body's balance.

Zinc supports:

  • immune system

  • skin, hair, and nails

  • wound healing and hormone balance

  • sense of taste and smell

Copper is important for:

  • iron absorption

  • formation of collagen and connective tissue

  • nervous system function

  • pigmentation of skin and hair

And cacao contains both — in significant amounts.
It is quite unusual to find a plant-based food that contains both zinc and copper in balanced levels.

4. An antioxidant boost from nature's hand

The test also showed a significant content of polyphenols – cacao's natural antioxidants.

Polyphenols support the body by:

  • protecting cells from oxidative stress

  • reducing inflammation

  • strengthening circulation and heart function

  • supporting skin elasticity and the aging process

Cacao's antioxidant profile is actually:

  • higher than green tea

  • higher than red wine

  • higher than blueberries and dark chocolate

Cacao contains several different types of polyphenols — including gallic acid, catechin, epicatechin, and EGCG (known from matcha/green tea).
This provides a broad and balanced effect, all stemming from nature's own composition.

5. Natural energy – without overstimulation

Cacao also contains theobromine and a small amount of caffeine.

Both substances are known to stimulate the nervous system – but in different ways:

Theobromine:

  • has a mildly stimulating effect

  • provides focus without restlessness

  • supports blood flow and heart function

  • lasts longer in the body than caffeine

  • feels like a gentle "inner warmth"

Caffeine in cacao:

  • found in very small amounts compared to coffee

  • provides slightly sharpened awareness, but not restlessness

Therefore, many find that cacao:

  • provides clarity and energy

  • without the classic "caffeine kick" and subsequent crash

  • can be drunk in the morning or early afternoon without disturbing sleep

6. A food the body can recognize

One of the most beautiful things about cacao is that its nutrients are found in their natural form.
Not as added powder, extract, or pill – but as a whole, living food.

This means:

  • higher absorption

  • better interaction between nutrients

  • that the body can sense and cooperate with the cacao

Cacao can therefore serve as a daily support – a natural contribution to your well-being.
A kind of grounding in liquid form.

7. When cacao is allowed to be both medicine and food

This blog post is not about reducing cacao to numbers and values.
On the contrary.

But I experience it as an honor to be able to hold both:

🌿 On the one hand – cacao as a plant ally, as a teacher, as a guide
🍫 On the other – cacao as nourishing, mineral-rich food with real physical support

One does not exclude the other.
It simply reinforces what I have long felt:

That cacao is a gift – for both the heart and the body.
And I have now had that confirmed on paper.
